JoJo Jefferies Meet JoJo Jefferies.
On this planet filled with so much human fear and misguided political anger there are only a small handful of vocalist (No Gender recuired) who I would say sing and write songs so incredibly that even the softest tone melts away the harsh events around me replacing them with peace, Love and Soul-Deep soul... Ann Peebles, Mavis Staples and Reba Russell are of course among those. Joni Mitchell is of course another and JoJo Jefferies will without a doubt fall in the same ranks with the same world class breath taking vibes threaded on endless strands of unpretentious-unforced Soul.

Having toured with The Marvells Ann Peebles, released her own album titled Three Wishes, opened concerts for Leon Russell and most recently engineered and opened for Golf Pro John Daly along with fronting her own JoJo Jefferies band. Jo's talent, voice and relentless drive can only be destined to help heal the world with her music.

Dexter Haygood Meet Dexter Haygood.
One of the greatest singers to come out of Memphis Can I get a Witness, Amen.. Met Dexter around the same time I met Bass Player Skip Johnson. Dex, was the lead singer for Rock group Xavion and ended up sing on almost all of my earlier stuff before heading to CA to work with Motown Legend Berry Gordy's Brother. Now H'es back in Memphis working on some brand new stuff. Hope to get to work again real soon

Larry Dodson Meet Larry Dodson
Lead vocalist for the Legendary funk group The Bar-Kays. Back in '93 in between tours with Ann Peebles, I got a call from a brother name Bobby Summers. He happened to be playing Keys for the Bar-Kays at the time and needed a 2nd player, so I met him at his house, picked up the tape and a week later was in the rehearsal hall firing away through the changes of the first tune when this guy walks up to me with a grin a mile long and the first words out his lips were "Welcome to the Bar-Kays Cracker, I'M Larry". Man I busted up but sad as I hate to admit it, I only made it about as far as the stage steps of the first show before the cops pulled me for outstanding warrants and took me straight to jail. Larry and I have been close every since then believe it or not and in fact have just finished working together in the studio doing a duet titled "My God"on Don Bryant's new Gospel release.

Michael Newell Meet Michael Newell
An amazing singer who I've had the pleasure of doing many great concerts with. Mike was with Ann Peebles for our '96-97 tour and was featured along side Don Bryant in a tribute to Hi Records that we added in Ann's show. Watch here for updates on a new Gospel album from Mike sometime in the near feature.

Cathrine Pruitt a.k.a. Kat Meet Cathrine Pruitt a.k.a. Kat
Another amazing female singer. Kat's been with me and Ann Peebles the longest of anybody. We met in '93 at the end of Ann's Full Time Love Tour and we've had the best times together on stage and off. Kat is the queen of good Vibes and She, Ann and I have what we call the all nighters Coffie Club. Kat is of course Captain.
Luv ya Girl

Don Bryant a.k.a. Daddy Donny B Meet Don Bryant a.k.a. Daddy Donny B.
I'm gonna try not to get too deep but How in the world do you describe a best friend who happens to be one of the greatist Vocalist living in just a paragraph? I really can't so I'll just say that he is without a doubt both. Don was one of the first artist and staff writers at Hi Records which was headed by producer Willie Mitchell. Don has been married to Soul legend Ann Peebles for 23 years now and is the Co- Author of her 1973 hit "I Can't Stand The Rain". We've had some unbelievably awesome tours and records over the past eight years including a brand new Gospel album by Don titled "It's All In The Word" scheduled for release sometime this fall.

King Daddy
Meet King Daddy a.k.a. KD
(Photo courtasy of Steve Roberts)

When you drop the needle on the first track of his new self titled release " King Daddy and the Boogie Children, you'll see just why I think he's one of the best Blues vocalist, writers and Harp blowers to come out of Memphis since the early days of Albert and BB King. I have some wonderful memories of the vibes He, Loyd, Larry D, Ran Man and I shared on stage.
Miss the Vibes my brotha
Paul
PS. Al Gamble smoked these tracks.

Klaudia
Meet Klaudia
To me, she's another one of the finest vocalist and writers in the world. We met in I believe '87. My girlfriend Leanne at the time and I used to go to this cool club in downtown Memphis called The North End every Sunday just to hear Klaudia sing some of the most amazing versions of tunes like "All Along The Watch Tower" and "He Comes For Conversion" along with some incredible tunes of her's like "High Heel Shoes" and "At The Same Place Twice In Life". She and and her long time writing partner Rico heard had a great band called Klaudia and Rico . Well, Rico invited me down one sunday to sit in and man did the doors of sweet vibes ever fly open. It was then I knew I had met a musical soul mate. Be sure to check out their album titled " At The Same Place Twice In Life".

Jimi Jamison
Meet Jimi Jamison
(photo Courtesy of Jeanie) Lead singer for the world renown rock group Survivor and one of the most soulful Rock Singers in the world. This memory ranks right up there with the George Clinton story: Ok, back when Jimi had a band called Cobra, I was playing this jam one night, kind of one of those free for all's right, and the bass player happened to be there. Well, he comes up to me after seeing me play and he goes "You've got to be in Cobra!" So we start talking and he want's to set up this meeting with Jimi and their manager the next day. So the next day I'm scrambling around through the lent in my pockets only to discover I'd lost the guys number and I couldn't remember what his name was. So I went and got this Cobra album and I'm sittin there looking at it going, well, it could be this guy, or it could be this guy. Well, my brother Sparky's fiance is Jimi's second or third cousin and she said; "oh I know Jimi and we can just go over to his house." So, ya really gotta try and picture this scenario. Sparky is like all into this biker thing right, and Cobra was real big with the bikers and Sparky's already like "oh yeah my brother is gonna be in Cobra!" So he gets all these Bikers together, like 15 of em to witness his little brother joining Cobra! Maan we go over to Jimi's house and I knock on thamans door and I am like; "yeah I'm Paul remember me?" Jimi stands there with this blank look on his face, scratching his head and says; "I'm sorry but I don't remember I don't remember ya bro". You know I'm starting to panic now so I said; "Huuuhh I thought I was supposed to be the new keyboard player". Jimi's next words were; "Sorry buddy but we're not looking for any keyboard players". Now I'm standing there with all these bikers behind me looking at me like I'M totally crazy. Needless to say I left there with my tail tucked between my legs and my biker days ended shortly after. Here we are, Jimi and I over fifteen years later and I consider him my brother. Funny how things work out.

Rob Caudill
Meet Rob Caudill
As great of a showmen as he is a singer, songwriter, bass Player and friend. Rob and I met while he and premier guitarist, Shawn Lane had a real cool band called "The Willies." The band was playing on Beale Street when Rob invited me to sit in. From the first note, Rob and I knew we were gonna have to work together someday. That was in the summer of '93 and sure enough, five years later Rob and I were sharing the stage with Drummer Pete Mendillo and Guitarist Steve Johnston in the baddest tribute to Rod Stewart this side of the universe. Thanks for your soulfulness and your friendship my Brotha.
Your Brotha
